Celebrities react to death of singer-actor Aaron Carter
Aaron Carter is dead at the age of 32 after a battle with a heart condition. The star was known for his role on TV series The Pretender, playing the evil character Mark Hellinger in the TV series. He was also a prolific music lover, with six albums. His last album, a cover of The Eagles song New Kid in Town, was released on Monday (12Jun17).
A statement posted by the singer’s publicist on Twitter confirming Carter’s death on Tuesday (13Jun17) read: “Aaron Carter passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer.
“He is survived by his wife, Minka, his children, Elijah and Bella, two step-children, and an extended family. “He was truly loved by fans worldwide. His memory will live on in the hearts of music lovers everywhere. “A celebration of the life of Aaron Carter is in order.”
News of Carter’s death in the early hours of Tuesday (13Jun17) sparked a wave of tributes flooding social media pages. One of them posted: “RIP Aaron Carter. You will forever be in my heart and the hearts of millions of fans around the world.”
Celebrities and music stars including Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande also took to Twitter to pay tribute.
“I’m in shock after hearing news of the passing of Aaron Carter,” the singer wrote. “He was my idol.”
