The Mar Vista School Shooter Is Not a Bad Guy

Hollywood’s broken promises to make sets safer after deadly ‘Rust’ shooting

A few words of sympathy for Los Angeles school shooter Elliot Rodger: He is not a bad guy, according to one of the many people who knew him.

Rodger’s online bio on the Internet describes him as “loud and funny” and in his free time “has been a member of the church choir and has been a soccer referee.” He says he “has been a member of St. James United Methodist Church since 2002, where he sang bass in the choir” and that he “is a graduate of Garfield High School and has been a member of the school’s lacrosse, swimming and cross country teams.” He says he has “a lot of friends.”

Rodger told a friend he was “going to kill some people,” and two members of his posse said they intended to hurt and kill as many people as possible. He reportedly had a list of 49 people to kill.

And yet, you do not hear from the other side of the gun control argument.
