What you are about to read is not an article, even though it does start with one.
As a young, talented striker from France’s Division 1A, Aurélien Tchouaméni had the talent to be one of the biggest stars in the history of world soccer. Instead, he chose to use his talents in a dangerous way, and in doing so, helped end his career and end the lives of both children and his pregnant, drug addicted wife. It is still difficult for me to believe that this young man would do something like this.
Aurélien is not alone. It seems that in the world of soccer many young boys are willing to do anything, anywhere, to score a goal.
It is the same story with many other stars. Every week, in the world of sports at any level, I’ve watched with disbelief the stories about the young man who could be an all-time hero for any other sport. In soccer, however, this story is not just about one kid, it is a tale of one family.
How do we know this story? Well it happened. It was filmed (or at least in part filmed) by the French television series France Culture.
I’m not sure how, but I discovered a video. My initial thought was that a team from the French football league would have filmed, and then aired the video on ESPN International (the English version was even more confusing).
However, the story started when I tried to locate the name of the football club that produced this video. The video had a link to a YouTube channel that had a link to a French television show called France Culture. I clicked on “watch video” and found the show. I saw the video again, however there was a big difference
